A Day in the Rainforest

Your adventure starts from Gorontalo with a scenic journey towards Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park.

Along the way, you will pass through rural villages, plantations and beautiful landscapes before entering the forest area.

Once inside the park, we leave the roads behind and continue on foot. Depending on the selected route and weather conditions, the experience can include forest trekking, rivers, waterfalls and wildlife observation.

The forest is alive with birds, insects, plants and other wildlife. With some luck, you may also have the opportunity to see some of Sulawesi’s unique species in their natural habitat.

Bogani Nani Wartabone is particularly important for the conservation of Sulawesi’s endemic wildlife.

Review :

We went on a 3 days/ 2 nights trip to the Hungayono Forest in the Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park. It was our first visit to a mostly untouched primary jungle area and what can I say – WOW!
Our guide Fajar asked for our wishes and observed which activities we liked the most and put together an unforgetable trip. He took us on wildlife spotting trecks where we saw many endemic species like the Spectral Tarsier and the Maleo Bird. We did an adventurous hike to a small waterfall and some caves and on top of that we went swimming in the nearby jungle river every day.
Fajar is very passionate about the jungle and as happy as ourselves whenever he found another animal to show and explain to us.
The accomodation is simple (floormats and squat toilet) but the service is excellent. We got three cooked meals per day, as well as snacks, bottled water, tea and coffee. As our guide brought everything in his backpack to the research station, we found that pretty amazing.
I could go on and on and tell you how we went star gazing, how Fajar told us countless stories about his experiences in the jungle. But in the end I want to say THANK YOU for a wonderful experience!
